Weddings are more than just ceremonies; they're a vibrant tapestry of emotions, stories, and unforgettable moments. As an Ottawa wedding photographer, I have been fortunate to document some of the most beautiful days in people's lives. Today, I’m excited to share a few of my favorite images from past weddings, each representing unique memories and feelings that are dear to me.
Let’s take a journey behind the lens and explore the stories that make these images special. Whether you’re an engaged couple seeking inspiration or simply someone who appreciates the art of candid photography, I hope you find joy in these glimpses of love and celebration.
The Quiet Before
There’s something magical about capturing those quiet moments right before the ceremony starts. The air is thick with anticipation, and you can almost feel the heartbeat of love that fills the space.

There’s something I really love about this moment I captured from an intimate New Year's Eve wedding at The Knox Wedding and Event Venue, in Merrickville, Ontario a few years ago. The groom, sitting quietly before the ceremony, going over his vows one last time. The room is cozy and calm, almost like time slowed down just for him. You can feel the nerves and the focus—he’s not rushing, he’s taking it all in, making sure the words are right.
I love how the light is soft and moody, and even though it’s a beautiful space, it’s not overly styled or posed. It’s just him, in his own head, getting ready to marry the love of his life. These quiet in-between moments are some of my favorites to capture. They say so much without needing to be “perfect.”
Joyful Celebrations
As the ceremony ends, and the couple takes their first steps as newlyweds, a wave of joy spreads through the crowd. Laughter, cheers, and spontaneous moments create a perfect backdrop for candid photography that tells a story of love and happiness.

I love how I captured that “we did it!” moment right after their beautiful ceremony At The School House, in Munster, Ontario. Still buzzing, still smiling, still holding onto each other like it’s the best day ever (because it is). I love how they’re looking at each other—completely in it, totally present. These little seconds right after you say "I do" are pure magic. Everyone’s clapping, but you’re in your own little world.
Reflective Moments
Weddings also offer moments of quiet reflection. Whether it’s a brief pause or a shared glance or embrace filled with love, these instances provide depth to the wedding story.

Even though it was freezing outside, this moment between them felt warm and completely still. There’s something about winter weddings—the way the cold makes people hold each other a little tighter, breathe a little deeper. Taken after their intimate elopement in the Dominion Arborteum, in Ottawa, ON. This wasn’t a posed shot. It was just a quiet pause, tucked away from everything else going on. I love how her eyes are almost closed, like she’s soaking it all in. These are the kinds of in-between moments I’m always watching for.
The Role of an Ottawa Wedding Photographer
As an Ottawa wedding photographer, what I really love is being able to piece together all the little moments into something that actually feels like you. I’m all about the real stuff—the laughs, the nerves, the way you look at each other when no one’s watching.
If you’re planning your wedding, think about the story you want your photos to tell. Don’t be shy about sharing what matters most to you—whether it’s the vibe of your venue, time with your people, or the little personal touches you’ve worked hard on. When we’re on the same page, we can create something that tells your story in the most honest, beautiful way.
Embracing Love in the Details
Every wedding has those little details that really show off who you are as a couple—whether it’s the way you’ve set the tables, the flowers you picked, or those thoughtful little touches you’ve added just for your guests. I always keep an eye out for those moments, because they help tell the full story of your day.

Engagement sessions are awesome too. They’re a chance to slow things down, get comfortable in front of the camera, and just hang out. Plus, it gives us time to connect before the wedding—which always makes the big day feel a lot more relaxed.

Soaking It All In
Weddings are full of love, emotion, and all the in-between moments that make it so special. The quiet glance, the laugh during a toast, the hug from someone who means the world to you… those are the moments I want you to remember when you look back at your photos.
As you’re planning your wedding, lean into what feels most like you. Surround yourself with your people, be present, and try to take it all in—even when it’s flying by.
Thanks for being here and following along. If you’re looking for an Ottawa wedding photographer to capture your day in a way that feels honest and real, I’d love to chat. Let’s make some beautiful memories together.
